Chris Carlisle, Managing Director
Chris brings a unique blend of technical, commercial and leadership skills to Opnetex. With 25 years of experience in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, he has a broad knowledge of technologies that span networks and IT infrastructure. He is adept at aligning technology strategies, architectures and plans with clients? business needs.
At Opnetex Chris consults to enterprise and government clients on telecommunications, networking, data centre and IT integration initiatives.
Prior to forming Opnetex, Chris held a range of senior technical management roles in both Australia and New Zealand. Most recently he was the Head of Technology Services and Chief Technology Officer of Telecom New Zealand Australia (TCNZA). In this role, Chris had full responsibility for the design and development of technical solutions for Australian corporate clients. Some of Chris's achievements include:
- Overall responsibility for the technical solutions that won Telecom NZ a five-year $600 million outsourcing contract with Commonwealth Bank of Australia and subsequent three-year extension
- Establishing and growing the technical services capability for Telecom's Australian solutions business to 35 technical staff
- Leading presales, which supported growth in revenues from $120 million to $170 million per annum over four years
- Initiating, devising and implementing strategies that resulted in 20% ($20 million) annualised savings in cost of service delivery to corporate clients.
Chris has a PhD and a BE (1st class honours), both in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand).
