WT Partnership is an international consulting practice providing project and cost consulting services to the construction and property industries. They have seven offices throughout Australia.

Each office was procuring telecom services independently, resulting in the business having nine different telecom suppliers. This made it difficult to manage costs across the business and meant WT Partnership could not effectively leverage their buying power.

Solution

Opnetex reviewed WT Partnership's networks and telecom services to identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve performance. As part of the review process, key people were interviewed to identify areas where the current networks were not meeting the needs of the business.

The review identified the key opportunity for WT Partnership was to consolidate their telecom services procurement across Australia. This led to Opnetex conducting a competitive tender, negotiating market best pricing and contract terms for WT Partnership, and managing the transition to the new suppliers.

Outcome

WT Partnership now have only two suppliers of telecommunication services; one for data and voice services and another for mobile services. This has greatly reduced the effort required to manage and pay suppliers. In the process of consolidation the cost of WT Partnership's telecom services were reduced by an average of 18%.

The cost of voice services was reduced by 35% and the cost of mobile services was reduced by 22%. The cost structure for data services was confirmed to be already very competitive.
